Starting somewhere: soil amendments

McEnroe Farm is an impressive illustration of a well integrated, diversified farming system. Located in Millerton, New York, the 800-acre organic farm produces vegetables (their tomatoes are legendary), livestock and feed for their animals.
Most importantly for this post, they also have a massive compost and potting soil production facility that provides our gardens with an excellent soil amendment primer. We are hooked on their black gold!
