A Newfound Appreciation: Popular Mechanics, circa 1943
June 24, 2009
A few months ago I attended a woodworking class with two editors from Popular Mechanics who said they were interested in familiarizing themselves a bit more with the tools often featured. I am embarrassed to say that it was my first peek into understanding all that Popular Mechanics has been providing since 1902.
I now regularly browse Google Books for their articles on all things gardening and farming. I recently came upon this gem on Victory Gardening from their May, 1943 issue that sheds some light on considerations for new urban gardeners when they set out to plant.
